No country music lady has left her mark as deep in the hearts of true country music fans every where ,as did the late great patsy Cline

She was and always will be a country music legend On March 5, 1963 Patsy Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas and Randy Hughes (all Grand Ole Opry stars) were killed in a plane crash after attending a benefit concert in Kansas City.

One of the greatest singers in the history of country music, Patsy Cline also helped blaze a trail for female singers to assert themselves as an integral part of the Nashville-dominated country music industry. She was not alone in this regard; Kitty Wells had become a star several years before Cline's big hits in the early '60s. Brenda Lee, who shared Cline's producer, did just as much to create a country-pop crossover during the same era; Skeeter Davis briefly enjoyed similar success. Cline has the most legendary aura of any female country singer,  perhaps due to an early death that cut her off just after she had entered her prime.

In 1973 Patsy Cline was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame - the first of many recognitions Ms. Cline would receive for her talent. Other tributes to the country music legend include the movies "Coal Miner’s Daughter" (which highlights the life of Patsy’s close friend, Loretta Lynn, and includes an appearance by Beverly D’Angelo as Patsy Cline) and "Sweet Dreams" (a biographical look at the singer’s rise to fame starring Jessica Lange
